2018 International Builder Show Draws Fewer Attendees than Last Year

The 2018 International Builder Show in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 9–11, saw 60,000 attendees, an 11.7 percent decrease compared with 2017’s 68,000.

However, attendance overall for Design and Construction Week, which also includes the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show, grew from 80,000 last year to 85,000 this year. IBS exhibition space expanded from 569,000 square feet in 2017 to 583,000 square feet in 2018, while the number of exhibitors stayed roughly the same at 1,500.

"Each and every year, a tremendous amount of work goes into making IBS an extremely valuable, can't-miss event for anyone in residential construction," said Geoff Cassidy, NAHB senior vice president of exhibitions and meetings, in a statement. "And once again, the show was an incredible success with a palpable enthusiasm reflective of the momentum in the home building industry."
