The palette, called “Whisper,” is made up of five “hushed neutrals,” including Glacier Ice, Clay, Blush, Mist and Dusty Lilac. The colors will be embodied in all of Shaw’s new hard surface products planned for release in 2019.
“With Whisper, we’ve moved away from our obsession with grays and are embracing colors that inject a calm, inviting serenity into the home,” Shaw VP of Product Design Pam Rainey said in a statement. “The palette conveys an ethereal, dreamlike environment where we can find peace and relaxation.”
The company said the colors were decided on through trend tracking and immersive research trips that spanned across the country to find out what resonated most among customers.
It is the sixth year Shaw has announced a Color of the Year. The Whisper color palette succeeds Gold Rush (2018), Lush (2017), White Hot (2016), Lady in Grey (2015) and English Royal Navy (2014).
