Chester Hollingsworth, dubbed the Oldest Working Man in America, spends two days a week organizing flooring samples at S&H Distributing’s Flooring Warehouse in Dallas.
Hollingsworth made headlines when he announced in September that he would officially retire on his 101st birthday on Oct. 18 this year. However, after another recent wave of media attention about his retirement, the company announced the Texan centenarian has decided to continue to clock in on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the flooring warehouse, keeping his title as oldest worker.
Hollingsworth, a WWII Navy Veteran, was one of the founders of S&H Distributing (the “H” in the title refers to him), and has retired twice before, once in 1984 and again in 1990. He came back to work organizing hardwood and other flooring material samples in the Dallas Flooring Warehouse in 1993 and has been working there ever since, according to a press release.
“I’d probably work for nothing if they felt like they didn’t want to pay me. That would be fine,” Hollingsworth said in a statement. “I just like to be with people. I’m enjoying every minute of it.”
