Shaw Recognized for Sound Advisor Tool

Shaw Industries (Dalton, Ga.) was recognized by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA) for its new web-based acoustics tool, Sound Advisor. Sound Advisor demonstrates the impact that flooring and underlayment selection, as well as ceiling and floor construction, have on a room’s acoustics. It does this by pairing a sound file of an actual, controlled impact insulation class (IIC) lab test with the users’ selected specifications with the IIC rating and data.

The company was given Silver awards by AIVA for Sound Advisor in three categories: Advertising and Marketing Features, Website—Construction; and “Strange and Unusual.”

“We are honored to be recognized by the AIVA,” Shaw Director of Innovation Jay Henry said in a statement. “Our cross-functional teams demonstrated the epitome of collaboration and creativity in addressing customer and market needs during the development of Sound Advisor.”

Sound Advisor can be accessed through the following branded sites: Patcraft, Philadelphia Commercial, Shaw Contract, Shaw Floors – Multifamily and USFloors.

More sites featuring the tool are currently under development.
