American OEM Forms ‘Innovation’ Partnership with South Korean Vinyl Manufacturer

American OEM (Burns, Tenn.) announced it has formed a research and development partnership with NOX Corporation, a Seoul, South Korea-based manufacturer of vinyl flooring products.

The “Innovation Collaboration” between the companies will be centered on the development of innovative flooring products for the world market, according to a press release.

“Although we don’t know exactly where this collaboration will take us, the chemistry feels good, and we both sense there are exciting things to be discovered for the flooring industry,” American OEM CEO Don Finkell said in a statement.

NOX was established in 1994 and also operates a vinyl flooring manufacturing facility in Fostoria, Ohio. Its products are sold in more than 50 countries.

“We value American OEM as an innovation partner,” NOX President Dan Koh stated. “Combining our expertise in waterproof vinyl flooring with their skill in designing and manufacturing hardwood should create real opportunities for innovation in new product categories.”
