Duchateau (San Diego) announced the launch of Dugood, a corporate sustainability program that has pledged to plant one tree for every hardwood floor sold by the company.
The program partnered with National Forest Foundation (NFF), a nonprofit campaigning to plant 50 million trees by 2023.
A portion of the trees planted through Dugood will be in areas directly impacted by wildfires in California.
“Duchateau has a long-standing commitment to sustainability, and the important reforestation work done by NFF aligns with our core values,” Duchateau CEO and Co-Founder Mitch Tagle said in a statement. “We have always believed it is important as a company to be environmentally responsible, and Dugood further underscores that belief.”
Duchateau VP of Marketing Patrick Bewley stated that the Dugood initiative allows retailers and customers to be directly involved in reforestation—as each floor will result in another tree planted.
The program was announced during The International Surfaces Event in Las Vegas, and the official launch of the program is slated for Feb. 1.
