Cronin Company to Close, Begins Liquidating Inventory

Cronin Company (Portland, Ore.) has begun liquidating its assets with plans to close the company.

The independent wholesale flooring distributor is advertising 60 percent off its list pricing for orders of 10,000 square feet or more and is encouraging “take all” offers, stating it is “now winding down business after 141 years.”

The fifth-generation company, which began distributing flooring in 1962, has eight branches located throughout Washington, Oregon and Alaska, and employs more than 140 people, according to its website.

Cronin began as a saddle and harness business in Portland in 1878.
