Rubio Monocoat USA LLC (Spicewood, Texas) recently teamed up with American Sanders (Sparta, N.C.) and Festool (Lebanon, Ind.) to host sand and finish classes in June.
The first two-day flooring sand and finish class had 11 students and was led by Daniel Boone of American Sanders and Rubioâs Johannes Boonstra. The class featured hands-on instruction on color combinations and sanding and finishing techniques.
The second course was a woodworking sand and finish class with 13 students and was led by Brian âSedgeâ Sedgeley of Festool and Rubioâs Allan Nery. The class created three custom pieces to be auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to Faith Jablonski, the wife of a woodworker in the community, who has been diagnosed with cancer.
