WFB Briefs: Canada To Use Russian, Belarusian Plywood Tariffs to Aid Ukraine; Last Week To Comment On USTR Chinese Tariff Review

Canada announced it will use $115 million from tariffs imposed on Russia and Belarus to aid Ukraine and repair Kyiv’s power grid. Canada revoked Most-Favoured-Nation (MFN) status for Russian and Belarusian imports March 2 after Russia invaded Ukraine, including imports of plywood.


The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is collecting public comments for its review of Section 301 import tariffs on Chinese goods until Jan. 17. Comments on the impact of the tariffs, implemented four years ago, may be submitted here.
