Kährs Group announced it has reduced its emissions of carbon dioxide by 63% compared with 2020, exceeding its goal of lowering emissions by 40% by 2025.
The Swedish company originally aimed to become carbon dioxide neutral by 2040 “in line with science-based targets contributing to meeting the 1.5-degree target defined in the Paris Agreement.” Because it is ahead of schedule, Kährs set a new target date of 2030 for becoming carbon dioxide neutral.
“I am proud of our work with science-based targets and our commitments and plan on how to get there, which is an important milestone towards reaching our sustainability goals,” stated Terese Gerdman, global sustainability manager, Kährs Group. “We have made dedicated efforts in line with our ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral in our own operations already 2030. Now we will validate our targets and get the roadmap in place, and our customers can trust that we will match their ambitions and targets.”
