Around two dozen fire departments across four counties responded to a fire at Hickman Lumber in Emlenton, Pa., Saturday night, exploreClarion reported.

No one was injured in the fire, but Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring, a sister company of Hickman Lumber, said on Facebook there was a “tremendous amount of damage.”

The company said the building is not a total loss but that they have “a lot of rebuilding to do.”

Allegheny Mountain Hardwood Flooring’s Marketing and Sales Director Jessica Hickman Fresch told WFB the company’s kilns, lumber and flooring plant were unaffected and Hickman Lumber is working with local mills to cut its logs in the meantime.

“The Hickman Lumber team that dropped what they were doing on a Saturday afternoon to show up and help was inspiring to see,” the company wrote on Facebook. “I know that with this team, we will rebuild and continue.”

Fire departments responded to the fire reported at 3:35 p.m. Saturday after large clouds of black smoke were visible in the area, exploreClarion reported.

Firefighters on the scene reported a piece of equipment had caught fire, according to exploreClarion. Firefighters cut through the steel building to put out the fire and cleared the scene by 7:30 p.m.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Fresch told WFB keeping orders coming is the best way to support the company and its employees in the wake of the fire damage.
