Effective immediately, there is a new management team at Palo Duro Hardwoods (Denver). Together, Tom Ruekert and Marc Schulz have assumed all responsibilities for Palo Duro and for Lägler North America.Palo Duro has been the exclusive North American importer and sales agent for Lägler since 1995, and Palo Duro, a wholesale distribution company, was acquired by Eugen Lägler GmbH (Frauenzimmern, Germany) in October 2015.Training will continue to be a major focus for the new team, the company said. “We’re committed to continuing to expand our PST program,” Ruekert said in a release. “We’ve recently marked our 10th year of training floor sanding professionals, and are celebrating by hosting our first-ever couples’ trip to Germany to commemorate this milestone.”April 15 is the deadline for entries to be included on the trip, which includes airfare, transportation, hotel, meals, and sightseeing. Entries are open to couples working together in the industry. “It’s a once-in-lifetime experience to get one-on-one training with the world leader in flooring sanding equipment, while visiting Lägler’s headquarters in Germany, as well as a stop in Strasbourg,” Schulz said in a release. Paul Laurenzi, vice president of sales and marketing at Delmhorst Instrument Company (Towano, N.J.) and a widely respected expert in the wood flooring industry, died on March 11. Laurenzi’s brothers Tom and John Laurenzi posted this statement on the company’s website:“We are deeply saddened to share that our dear brother, business partner and colleague, Paul Laurenzi, has passed away. Paul was an integral part of the management team at Delmhorst. He joined our family’s business in 1990, and took on various roles, culminating in his leadership of the sales and marketing effort as Vice President. He believed in our brand, and was tireless in his efforts to connect with customers and make Delmhorst what it is today. We will miss him dearly.”“I enjoyed working alongside Paul as he shared his wealth of knowledge of moisture meters with everyone,” says Roy Reichow of National Wood Floor Consultants (Cedar, Minn.). “I thought of him as one of my mentors over the years, teaching me about the industry.
