These images are a good example of the common differences between an image created by a professional photographer with professional equipment (on the left) and a quick snapshot with a new cell phone (on the right). Most apparent is the use of lighting in the professional image, which gives an accurate representation of the color and texture of not only the floor, but also the walls and room furnishings. In addition, the professional image shows the correct vertical alignment of the walls. In the phone image, the lines that are vertical in real life (doorways, corners, etc.) appear distorted and angled. Finally, the white balance has been corrected in the professional image—in other words, what is supposed to be white is actually white (not blue or yellow).
