There was a time when setting up a kissing booth was deemed good marketing for a cause. In this undated photo from the Durham, N.C.-based Forest History Society, ladies on behalf of Atlanta's North Side Kiwanis dole out smooches in exchange for tree planting. We're not sure how many saplings were planted from this exchange, but it appears the woman in the foreground-with eyes shut and lips locked-might have found the whole endeavor as off-putting as our modern-day sensibilities do.
