A flooring retail and installation business in Saskatoon, Canada, caught fire the morning of July 24, “severely compromising” the building’s roof, according to the Saskatoon Fire Department.
The fire took place in Prestige Flooring and Hardwood’s warehouse, where the presence of plastics and petrochemical materials caused thick plumes of black smoke to billow out the building, CBC News reported.
Fire crews remained on the scene for more than three hours and were able to contain the fire to a corner of the roof. The roof was severely damaged but remained intact, according to a statement from the fire department.
Occupants of the business were evacuated and no injuries were reported. The fire department stated the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
