White oak with warm, light stains is the latest trend in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, says Sales Consultant Cori Buell of Kelowna-based Okanagan Hardwood Flooring.

Over the last year, clients have moved away from red oak’s heavy grain and red undertones in exchange for a “lighter, natural” look with white oak, Buell says. And if clients are adding stain, they’ve ditched the darker tones for something warm and light, Buell adds. “They want something timeless.”
