How do you know that the blemish you've sanded away isn't going to be highlighted once you put the finish on? One technique that helps is to first wipe the sanded area with a cloth dampened with water. Here, a hair in the finish was scraped out, then the area around it was lightly abraded. If the abraded area isn't noticeable with the water, it's likely it won't be visible once the finish is reapplied.
