Las Vegas is known for its opulent suites, but one in particular may strike the hardwood flooring industry’s fancy. The Hardwood Suite at the Palms Casino Resort includes a 30-by-30-foot, half-court basketball floor. The court inside the 10,000-square-feet suite at the Palms comes with an electronic scoreboard, men and women’s three-point lines painted onto the floor and enough basketballs to keep 10 people—the total number that can sleep in the room—entertained while they take a break from the neon lights and slot machine sounds of the casino floors below. The padding along the wall behind the hoop hides three Murphy beds that swing down and lay flat on the court. They’re NBA-sized mattresses—a whole foot-and-a-half longer than the biggest California king. The suite also features a locker room with seven full-length wooden lockers, a hot tub big enough for Yao Ming to snorkel in and 24-hour butler service. Visitors looking to stay in the suite should come with an NBA-sized salary—single-night stays start at $25,000.
