By the Numbers
New residential sales of single-family houses in July 2007 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 870,000 units, according to the
U.S. Commerce Department. This is 2.8 percent above the revised June rate of 846,000 units but is 10.2 percent below the July 2006 estimate of 969,000 units.

The NWFA has hired
Glen Miller, formerly director of inspection services with NOFMA, as an assistant technical training director. Miller will handle technical calls into the NWFA’s technical hotline, which averages 200 calls a week. He also will be responsible for assisting with instruction at all NWFA technical training schools, both in St. Louis at NWFA headquarters and at the NWFA’s regional and member-sponsored schools.
