Man Survives Wood Shard Piercing His Brain

The construction job site is rife with danger, from misfired pneumatic tools to saws to heavy machinery and anything in between. Recently, in Mumbai, India, an errant piece of wood pierced 22-year-old construction worker Vinod Pal's skull and compressed his brain, according to NDTV.com. Pal was trying to separate a cluster of bamboo sticks when a piece of wood used to support the bamboo hit his head and penetrated his skull. After being taking to the hospital by co-workers, doctors removed the piece of wood and set about fighting any infection brought on by wood dust in Pal's skull. "I am thankful to God and the doctors who saved me," Pal told NDTV.
