Hanley-Wood said "more than 27,000" people attended Surfaces 2012, marking a 10 percent gain over attendance in 2011 and the highest event participation since 34,540 people attended the event in 2008.
"Leading up to the show, the news headlines were becoming more and more positive and you could definitely see and feel that optimism and energy on the show floor," said Amie Gilmore, the Surfaces show manager. "Everywhere we went we would hear conversations about how great the show was going."
Hanley-Wood said 546 companies exhibited at the show, and that it provided more than 295,000 net square feet of exhibit space. More than 130 of those exhibiting companies had not exhibited at Surfaces before. International participation at Surfaces was up about 18 percent, with more than 100 foreign companies exhibiting.
Surfaces 2013 will return to Mandalay Bay on Jan. 29-31, and it will again be co-located with StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas, the North American natural stone industry event.
