HomerWood Hardwood Flooring Company (Titusville, Pa.) is doing its part to help injured veterans like SPC Rob Kislow III attain accessible housing. As a contributor to the "Homes For Our Troops" project, HomerWood donated more than 2,700 square feet of white oak flooring for Kislow's home in Danielsville, Pa.
After his leg was amputated as a result of a firefight during the Afghan War, Kislow returned home to a home with narrow hallways and high counters. His new home, completed at the end of 2011, features an open, wheelchair-friendly layout and hardwood floors.
"We are so pleased to be able to give back to our veterans who's own strength of character have given so much to all of us," said Kathy Barker, HomerWood's director of operations.
