Ecore International (Lancaster, Pa.) has named former Mannington Mills president and CEO Thomas Davis to its board of directors.
During his time with Mannington, according to an Ecore, Davis developed one of the best management teams in the floor covering industry. From 2008 to 2009, Davis served as chairman of the Resilient Floor Covering Institute. Before joining Mannington, Davis served for 23 years with Milliken & Company in Spartanburg, Ga.; he holds a Master's Degree in chemistry from Furman University.
"Tom is a recognized leader in the flooring industry, and his reputation for integrity and evenhandedness is above reproach. I look forward to tapping into Tom's experience and innovative spirit as we seek to take ECORE to the next level. We are delighted to have him on board," said Arthur Dodge III, Ecore's chairman and CEO.
Davis joins Ecore directors Lori Dowling, industry consultant and former president and CEO of StarNet Commercial Flooring Cooperative; Michael DeRosa, managing director at Element Partners; Andrew Dodge, president of Gerbert Ltd.; Laura Dodge, managing director of international business at Ecore; Gene Otto, executive vice president and managing director of Sageworth Trust Company; and Scott Wagner, president and owner of Penn Waste.
In April 2011, Ecore launched its Reduex program for recycling rubber and cork and turning it into flooring. In early 2011 it opened a new plant in York, Pa., for grinding rubber material for use in its sound control underlayment products.
