Specialty building products manufacturer Ardex Americas has begun construction on two new buildings and plans to add 10 percent to its existing workforce. The company, which offers products for substrate preparation, concrete and repair and other applications, is building a new marketing building at its corporate headquarters in Aliquippa, Pa., outside of Pittsburgh, that will be complete early this summer. It is also building a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and technical training center in Stockton, Calif., that will open in spring of 2013. Additionally, upgrades are being made to the company's plants in Aliquippa and Dallas, Ga.
The Stockton plant is part of the company's multi-million-dollar project expanding the Ardex Tile and Stone Installation System. Twenty to 30 new employees will be added to support that initiative.
"Despite challenging economic times, Ardex Americas has consistently grown and diversified our product offerings," said Jesse David, Ardex Americas vice president and general manager. "We are very fortunate to be in a situation where we are growing our workforce, and adding jobs to the economy as well."
