Philadelphia Floor Store Inc. (Conshohocken, Pa.) held its second-annual Nailer Day on March 15, and Robert O'Connell was crowned Fastest Nailer in the East. Here's a video of some of the action:
O'Connell won the contest, which was sponsored by Aacer Flooring (Peshtigo, Wis.), by installing 18 square feet of flooring in 3:40; his performance surpassed last year's winning time of 4:27. For his effort, O'Connell took home a prize of $500. Additionally, Primatech Inc. (Quebec, Quebec) gave O'Connell a new nailer safety and 10,000 2-inch cleats since he won the contest using a P250 ALG nailer.
Ten sponsors were on hand for the event, which featured a free raffle for all of the 50-plus attendees. Bill Caracci of Old Tyme Hardwood Floors took home the raffle's grand prize: a PowerPalm nailer from Powernail Company Inc. (Lake Zurich, Ill.).
Philadelphia Floor Store said next year's Nailer Day will again take place in mid-March.
