Frank Potter, a 30-year veteran of the wood flooring industry, will retire from Stauf Adhesives USA LLC (Memphis, Tenn.) on April 15, according to a company memo.
After serving as director of a Catholic social services agency in Knoxville, Tenn., Potter entered the wood flooring industry in 1979 with Hartco Wood Floors. Over the years, he worked at Mannington Resilient Floors, Art Guild Inc. and Capella Wood Floors. In 2007 he joined Stauf. At Stauf, Potter was involved in advertising, marketing and strategic planning, and he also served as a company rep for Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Kansas and western Tennessee. In retirement, Potter said he will look forward to traveling and spending time with his family.
In the memo, David Ford, Stauf's vice president of sales and marketing, said the company will be working with customers individually "as we adjust to Frank's departure."
"We at Stauf will miss Frank," Ford said. "We will miss his organizational abilities, passion and work ethic that he has brought us each day. We'll also miss his teasing and his never-ending sense of humor."
