Deb Hawkinson will resign as executive director of the Hardwood Federation, the wood products lobbying group. Hawkinson will remain with the group through May, and until the end of her tenure she will focus her efforts on recruiting a new executive director for the Hardwood Federation.
Hawkinson is leaving the Hardwood Federation to take on the role of president at the Forest Resources Association (FRA). She joined the Hardwood Federation, of which the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) is a part, in 2007 after working at the American Forest & Paper Association for nearly 6 years.
"Deb's hard work to advocate for the hardwood industry has resulted in significant exposure for our industry within the leadership of the federal government. Her contributions will be missed," said Michael Martin, CEO of the NWFA. "Fortunately for us, the NWFA will have the opportunity to continue working with Deb as she leads the Forest Resources Association."
