Update: The used portable basketball court from the University of Colorado was sold for $32,100 when the auction ended June 15, 2012. The buyer is unknown.
HigherEdSurplus.com is chock full of small-ticket items universities and police stations are looking to get rid of: a phone booth frame for $10, two-that's right, TWO-crates of scrap metal (in fair condition) for $5, and a four-head VCR for $6 are just a few of the fantastic items available now-and then there's this used portable basketball court from the University of Colorado currently listed for $7,500. Any takers?
The court is a maple All-Star Plus model by Robbins Inc., and it was first installed at the university in 1996. The item is for sale as-is (sans warranty), and the university says it is in fair/good condition. It measures 60x112 feet and includes an extension that is 24x48 feet. Since it's only been sanded and refinished once, it probably still has plenty of life in it. Delivery is not part of the package, but two rubber mallets and two "speed" wrenches are.
Like most lots on HigherEdSurplus, delivery of the floor-which typically requires a semi-is not included. If you're interested, act fast-the auction is scheduled to end June 15.
