L.R. McCoy (Worcester, Mass.), which has been in business for 90 years distributing wholesale wood flooring, fencing and industrial building components, is currently winding down operations, according to Henry Braverman, the company's vice president of operations.
Braverman attributed the Great Recession as the leading cause for the company's closing. Right now, the company is doing "business as usual, to an extent," Braverman said; however, by August, its inventory should be liquidated and the entire company closed. L.R. McCoy sells solid red oak, white oak, cherry, maple, walnut, hickory and beech wood flooring; it also carries the Artisan Antique Floors brand. Braverman said anyone in the wood flooring industry interested in the company's remaining inventory or "people resources" should contact him.
"We've got some great people at this company, some of the best in the industry," Braverman said. "The scenario [of the company's closing] extends beyond the company itself, to loans, money and banks."
Braverman can be reached at [email protected] or (508) 368-7700.
