Uzin-Utz AG (Ulm, Germany), parent company to UFloor Systems Inc. (Aurora, Colo.), announced Tuesday it will build its first factory in the United States, with production anticipated to start during the third quarter of 2014.
The new $7 million factory will make leveling compounds and floor patches, as well as tile-setting materials. Currently, Uzin-Utz is looking for a site on which to build and conducting a raw materials analysis. Groundbreaking is tentatively planned for the third quarter of 2013. Once construction is completed, the new factory will create 20 new jobs.
The factory will be constructed and designed to provide future expansion of Uzin-Utz brand manufacturing into North America, along with providing space for U.S.-based research and development, UFloor said in a release.
