Don Smithson, long a fixture of the repair shop at Golden State Flooring and at Clarke American Sanders, recently opened a sanding equipment repair shop along with Justin Smithson, his son.

Before launching the father-son business, Don Smithson worked in the tool repair shop at Golden State Flooring, which folded in June. Golden State recently reopened under new ownership. Don Smithson also worked with Floor Style Products, as well as Clarke American Sanders. Prior to launching the new company, Justin Smithson had a 16-year career at Golden State Flooring.
"Don and Justin make a great team, and they wanted to continue working together," said Lynn Smithson, Don's wife and Justin's mother.
