The Wood Education and Resource Center (WERC), part of the North Carolina State University Wood Products Extension, will hold a leadership conference Aug. 2 for wood products producers who market their products locally.
"This event is a gathering of the industry to discuss strategies and provide leadership for our industry to re-grow our hardwood forest and wood products industry by growing sales of U.S.-made wood products made with U.S. hardwoods," according to an email invitation for the event.
The conference is open to manufacturers, distributors and dealers of all hardwood products, as well as public forestry organizations, state forestry associations, nonprofits and universities. State branding programs, local marketing concepts, public forestry organizations, and lessons from the local food movement will be discussed.
