FSC Appoints Kim Carstensen Director General

The FSC International board of directors has appointed Kim Carstensen director general. Carstensen will begin in his new post on Oct. 1.

After announcing a global search in May, Carstensen will succeed Andre de Freitas, who has led FSC International for the past five years.

Carstensen has 20 years of executive experience, most recently serving as director of the WWF Global Climate Initiative and general secretary of WWF Denmark.

In the fall, Carstensen will pay a visit to FSC-US, though the dates for that visit have yet to be set.
