Teragren Fine Bamboo Flooring, Panels & Worktops (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) recently announced it has earned the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label for its complete line of bamboo building products.
Under the USDA's BioPreferred program, Teragren's PureForm Traditional Bamboo Flooring was tested and found to comprise 99 percent biobased content. Meanwhile, the company's Xcora Strand Bamboo Flooring was found to comprise 94 percent biobased content.
According to Teragren, biobased products are goods composed in whole or in significant part of agricultural, forestry or marine materials. The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label verifies that a product's amount of renewable biobased ingredients meets or exceeds prescribed USDA levels. The purpose of the USDA BioPreferred program is to promote the increased purchase and use of biobased products.
