Delta Hardwood Expands Into Vacant N.Y. Ethan Allen Plant

Wood flooring manufacturer Delta Hardwood Flooring (Lee Center, N.Y.) has purchased a vacant Ethan Allen plant in Boonville, N.Y., where it plans to move all its operations. "Currently we've been outsourcing, and our warehousing has been in a separate facility, so now we're putting our production and warehousing all under one roof," said Delta Vice President of Sales and Marketing Rose Hicks. The company has begun the move and plans to have the facility fully operational by mid-February; it expects to at least double its current staff of 20 by the end of 2013, Hicks said. "It's been a rough few years for everybody in the hardwood flooring industry … there does seem to be a little light at the end of the tunnel," Hicks said.
