The high-end "Cocoon House" is just one of the thousands of condos to be built, but it will offer one of the most unique living spaces.
Designed by architectural firm Planning Korea, the condo's main hall (pictured here in two architectural renderings) has wood floors-it looks like an exotic species but the designs aren't finalized-that slope up and around dwellers, incubating them in warmth, comfort and a lot of wavy wood. Finding a way to curve all that material should be challenging, so the architect is inviting wood companies to submit their ideas to [email protected] on how to do it. The home will be eco-friendly to the hilt, while the ultra-modern design shows that a traditional material like wood has its place in even the most modern of structures.
