It's just like the Grammys or Oscars-except it's for wood flooring contractors. The Wood Floor of the Year awards are announced every year at the NWFA Wood Flooring Expo, and the NWFA is currently accepting submissions for the 2013 edition. (Pictured above is the 2012 Members' Choice winner created by Bronx, N.Y.-based Archetypal Imaginary Remodeling Corp.)

The contest will culminate April 4 during the Awards Luncheon, which will take place during the NWFA Expo at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Dallas. Open at no cost to NWFA-member companies only, this year's contest will include these categories:

  • Best Residential
  • Best Commercial
  • Best Restoration
  • Best Reclaimed
  • Best Manufacturer Factory Finished
  • Best Limited Species
  • Best CNC/Laser Cut
  • Best Extreme Makeover

All submissions in these categories are automatically entered into the Members' Choice and Designers' Choice categories. Following are links to HF's past coverage of the Wood Floor of the Year awards: 2007.

To submit a project, send a completed entry form, 8-inch by 10-inch color photograph of the floor, and one CD with a digital image of the same photo to:
