Hardwood Review: Wood Flooring Imports Reach Record Levels

According to the Hardwood Review Express, 2013 imports of solid and engineered wood and bamboo flooring were up 6 percent through April 2013, reaching the highest level since the HTS codes changed in 2008. The Review said sales are on pace to total $815 million.

China's share of the import market climbed from 52 percent in 2008 to 70 percent in 2013. China took the title of top supplier from Brazil, which saw a 48 percent decrease in shipments through April. Canada is still in second place, with year-to-date imports up 21 percent through April.
