U.S. construction spending in June crept down less than 1 percent from May to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $883.9 billion in June, according to the U.S. Dept. of Commerce. That rate is 0.6 percent less than the revised May estimate but is 3.3 percent above the June 2012 rate.
For the first six months of 2013, construction spending is at $408.5 billion, which is 5.5 percent above the rate for the same time period in 2012.
