Mohawk Industries (Dallas, Texas) and its subsidiary Unilin will increase prices on select Mohawk-, Century- and Columbia-brand solid and engineered hardwood products this fall. The Mohawk price hike will go into effect on orders and shipments made on or after Oct. 21, and Century and Columbia will raise prices September 30. The rate of the increases has not been released at this time.

"Since our last price increase announcement, raw material costs have continued to rise on select lumber and veneer species. A combination of an improving economy and less-than-ideal logging conditions has resulted in increased demand coupled with a slower supply response. Unfortunately, the cost increases continue to outpace our productivity initiatives," Jamie Byrne, senior vice president of hard surfaces at Mohawk, said in a statement.
These increases come after a 5-7 percent increase that went into effect Aug. 5.
