Mullican Flooring (Johnson City, Tenn.) has added its RidgeCrest Collection, an existing engineered product line, to the manufacturer's growing roster of made-in-America products. Mullican previously offshored this segment of production to Asia, but now the RidgeCrest Collection joins four collections introduced in 2013-LincolnShire, HillShire, San Marco and Ponte Vedra-that also are manufactured on U.S. soil.
"As a result of the success Mullican has seen with the production of the new engineered collections, it makes sense to move the RidgeCrest Collection to the U.S., as well," Brian Greenwell, Mullican's vice president of sales and marketing, said in a statement. "Today's consumers are looking for readily available made-in-America products. Manufacturing RidgeCrest at the Johnson City plant will meet that demand."
Mullican first launched state-of-the-art equipment for manufacturing engineered hardwood floors on U.S. soil in 2012, when it moved to its larger Johnson City headquarters. The RidgeCrest Collection will be the first 1/2-inch engineered product Mullican has manufactured in the United States. Offered in an array of oak, hickory and maple selections, RidgeCrest is available in 3- and 5-inch widths.
