Magna Hardwood Floors International Inc. (Calgary, Alberta) hosted an NWFA school from March 11-14. Nineteen students attended the school; they sanded, stained and finished almost 2,000 square feet of red oak flooring in a real home during the school.
The instructors were led by NWFA Regional Instructor Kjell Nymark, along with Wayne Lee (Middle Tennessee Lumber); Mark Mukosiej (Arboritec USA Inc.) and George Vickery (Heartwood Construction Inc.). The school was targeted at using General Finishes stains, Arboritec USA Inc. UV-cured finishes; and Jelight Company Inc. on-site UV-curing machines. People representing those products at the school included Runno Allikivi and Mark Pacacha from Arboritec; Rob Szwedo and Tom Monahan from General Finishes; and Emily Hess and Son Thanh Le from Jelight.
Nine students also took the hands-on portion of their NWFACP Sand & Finish certification during the school.
