While China continues to export huge numbers of wood flooring products, the country is also facing a materials price increase as countries around the world have started enforcing restrictions on wood cutting and exports to protect the environment, according to a new study.
The study, Global Research on China Wood Flooring Industry Report 2013-2016, says China manufactures 20 percent of the global wood flooring market. Sales grew 6 percent year-over-year to 400 million square meters in 2013.
China exports $660 million USD of wood flooring each year, with the United States importing about 36 percent of that flooring.
