Unless otherwise noted, all workshops below take place at the NWFA Training Facility, located at 111 Chesterfield Industrial Blvd., Chesterfield, Missouri, 63005.
What: Intermediate Installation, presented by Brett MillerWhen: June 10-13, 8 a.m.The four-day workshop includes jobsite evaluation and preparation, installation techniques, custom-entry borders and medallion installations. Register before June 10 here.
What: Intermediate Sand & Finish, presented by Brett MillerWhen: June 17-20, 8 a.m.The four-day training will teach attendees how to properly sand different types of wood, correctly use and maintain tools, repair and recoat existing floors and select proper finishing techniques.Register before June 17 here.
What: Utilizing Testing Labs WorkshopWhen: June 23, 8 a.m.The one day workshop includes lessons on how to commission services when using an independent testing agency, weigh the options of lab testing, select appropriate testing resources, prepare samples and how to use the data to make a report. What: Engineered Wood Flooring WorkshopWhen: June 24, 8 a.m.The course covers board construction and analysis, how veneer and adhesive change coefficients within the construction affect performance, peeled versus sliced veneers, splits, moisture testing and common problems and causes. What: Inspecting Sand & Finish WorkshopWhen: June 26, 8 a.m.Inspecting Sand & Finish covers common problems and causes of sand and finish issues, proper inspection procedures and maintenance. Attendees will also dissect common sanding and finish inspection scenarios and discuss lab testing. Todd Schutte (Bona US), Micah Peterson (Basic Coatings), Patrick Mervyn (Rubio Monocoat), Jon Namba (Namba Services Inc.), and Brett Miller (NWFA) will lead this workshop.Register before June 26 here.
What: Report Writing WorkshopWhen: June 27, 8 a.m.Report Writing details the "seven steps" for writing an effective report. Instructors and attendees will work together to create a completely supported inspection report to use as a sample for writing future reports.
