The National Wood Flooring Association is hosting a suite of one-day classes from June 23-27 geared toward inspectors. The classes will be led by a slew of industry professionals and scientists, including Dr. Daniel Hindman.
Hindman, an associate professor in the department of sustainable biomaterials at Virginia Tech, will help lead two workshops: "Utilizing Testing Labs" and "Engineered Wood Flooring" on June 23 and 24, respectively.
At VT, Hindman teaches Wood Mechanics, Green Building Systems and Design of Wood Structures and Timber Engineering. His research focuses on the efficient use of materials, safety in construction and sustainable building practices.
Hindman is also the editor of Wood Design Focus, a quarterly periodical for topics in the engineering and architecture community related to the use of wood materials.
