Whey-based wood finish manufacturer Vermont Natural Coatings (Hardwick, Vt .) is one of just 30 American companies invited to the United States Senate Agriculture Committee's "Grow It Here, Make It Here: Creating Jobs through Bio-Based Manufacturing" spotlight on innovation in the bio-based products industry.
The company will showcase its PolyWhey finished in the Russell Senate Office Building June 17.
"Vermont Natural Coatings is a great company to take part in this Bio-based Products Showcase in the U.S. Senate. They have helped to lead the strong growth in Vermont in recent years of new businesses adding value and innovation to natural and bio-based products," said Vermont's Senator Patrick Leahy in a statement. "Their use of whey-previously an agricultural waste product-as the base for their product, and their choice to start and grow their business in Hardwick, combine to make Vermont Natural Coatings a true leader in the creative economic and agricultural renaissance that is taking root across our state."
The spotlight is open to the public and will take place in the Kennedy Caucus room.
