Goodwin Heart Pine Company (Micanopy, Fla.) has applied for a $150,000 grant awarded to the small business whose business plan receives at least 250 votes and a nod from a panel of experts.
Goodwin submitted a questionnaire that outlined their business plan to grow the business. To view the plan and vote, go to www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/business/detail/18529. The company must jump the first hurdle—250 votes—by Oct. 17 to have its plan vetted by the expert panel.
“This grant will help us fund the extension of our wood flooring line to offer a builder-ready, prefinished line, creating additional opportunities for a wider range of customers to enjoy the same great River-Recovered and Building reclaimed wood that you are familiar with," said George Goodwin, company president, in a statement. "With only a few clicks—to vote—you’ll be directly helping us increase our chances to provide our customers with extended product offerings. Thank you from all of us at the Goodwin family."
Mission Main Street grants, run by Chase Bank, will award 20 small businesses in the U.S. a total of $3 million. Grant recipients will be announced in January.
