Horizon Forest Products' (Raleigh, N.C.) "significant growth" over the past three years led to its decision to move its Richmond, Va., offices into a larger building. The new facility will also operate as a distribution center.
The company decided to move its offices across town, from the old Hermitage Road address to the new, larger location inside the Interport Business Center at 4820 Eubank Rd. The move took place on Oct. 6.
"We have chosen to expand the facility to a space that has over 65,000 square feet, which is almost 29,000 square feet larger than our current facility," said David Williams, vice president, in a statement.
In addition to the company’s offices, the new location will also house a Reload Distribution Center, which will serve the company's northern branches in Virginia and Maryland. This is the second reload center operating on the East Coast.
All 17 employees made the move, and the company expects to hire additional staff once it has settled in to the new location.
