Hanley Wood reached an agreement to sell its Hanley Wood Exhibitions business for $375 million to U.K.-based Informa PLC. The sale is expected to close before the end of the year.
The sale involves 17 trade shows, including The International Surface Event and Greenbuild Conference & Expo, according to Folio Magazine.
Staying is the company's headquarters in Irving, Texas, all existing staff and current president Rick McConnell. Leaving is the Hanley Wood Exhibitions brand, which will change to “Informa Exhibitions US.”
“Since 2000, Hanley Wood Exhibitions has led the industry as a best-in-class producer of tremendously vital and successful events,” said Peter Goldstone, Hanley Wood’s CEO, in a statement. “Informa recognized the power and value of the trade show business we’ve built over the years."
Hanley Wood will still manage 30 smaller shows, but its CEO Peter Goldstone told Folio that the business is transitioning to information and marketing services.
