Linden Lumber Earns NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification

Linden Lumber (Linden, Ala.) has received the NWFA/NOFMA Mill Certification, which shows its wood flooring meets or exceeds the industry standards for grade, configuration, moisture content and average board length. The mill will now be inspected a minimum of two times a year to ensure compliance.

The company, a mainstay in the lumber industry for more than 50 years, expanded its business to include a flooring line in 1988. It now produces red and white oak flooring in various grades, as well as a few niche products for its customers’ special projects.

“Our flooring mill has been a vital part of our business for nearly 30 years,” said Hugh Overmyer, president of Linden Lumber, in a statement. “Our employees have really come to appreciate the sense of accomplishment that comes with making a high-quality product, and they strive for that top quality every day.”

On the lumber side of the business, Linden Lumber manufactures, air dries, kiln dries and inspects its southern hardwood products all at its Linden location. The company has more than 3 million board feet of kiln drying capacity.
